|Scope & Content||
Baptism--The Mode, written by Rev. John Edwards, translated by Rev. A.N. Chamberlin, 1892.
The Shorter Catechism, compiled and translated by Rev. A.N. Chamberlin, 1892.
Both publications are written in syllabary and are similar to the many tracts which were printed by the missionaries and distributed among the Cherokees.
Rev. Chamberlin was the son of the Rev. William Chamberlin, a graduate of Princeton, who was sent to Brainerd Mission as a missionary. The press and type which were used were later turned over to Dwight Mission, the second mission, after it was changed from Arkansas to Indian Territory.
